HOWARD ALBERT MADER
It is with great sadness that we must report the passing of Howard Albert Mader of congestive heart failure on July 30, 2008 at the age of 83. Howard was an honorary life member of Western Cover Society holding membership number 221. This is an honor that WCS has bestowed on only 17 members of the Society in its fifty-seven year history.
Howard was born, raised and died on his family farm in the Waldo Hills area outside of Salem, Oregon. His family settled on this land in 1848. When asked, He would reply that he was a grass seed farmer by trade but he was always a collector of Western Material by heart.
He is survived by his wife Jackie, two sons Bob and Scott and four grandchildren. Bob is also a member of WCS. Condolences can be express to Mrs. Jackie Mader, 4496 Anderson RD SE, Aumsville, OR 97325.
